Scholar Spotlights

Josefina Martinez Jimenez

I decided to major in Statistics, not only because the world has become more reliant on data, but I have become fascinated by the many areas statistics takes part in such as engineering and health care and how it can help improve the modern world through the analysis of data.
When I graduate, I would like to work in a job that will enable me to work alongside other experts in finding solutions that can be beneficial toward improving a product, service, or preventing wrong conclusions such as those in pharmaceuticals.
Moving forward, I will like to continue my education and obtain a master’s degree, and eventually work towards a doctoral degree in Statistics.
During my free time I enjoy building miniature models, watching historical dramas, and listening to music. Recently I have begun to collect vinyl records, and I am always excited to explore new artists and genres to expand and diversify my collection.
Greater Texas Foundation- The Greater Texas Foundations offers great support toward students in their education, I am passionate about this organization because it assists students’ in networking and connecting with mentors to further their education.
Do not let the fear of failure hold you back and take every opportunity that is given to you for there is always a door open to those who take the chance.
