Directors

Karen Emami (Board Chair)

Karen is the daughter of Beulah Haraldson. Karen graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1971 with a bachelors degree in Math and a minor in Computer Science. She is a proud UT Football fan who will often travel to see games and will never miss one on television. She is passionate about giving back and helping students who want to make an impact in their communities.
Karen is the President & CEO of Global InfoTek, Inc where she advises government agencies on their cybersecurity needs. She lives in Great Falls, VA with her husband. She has 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren that she loves to cook waffles with.

Jean Cook (Treasurer)

Jean is the life-long friend of Beulah Haraldson. Their mothers were from Louisiana and met in Houston, Texas in the early 1920’s. She was the Executor of Beulah’s Estate and now is a Board Member of The Haraldson Foundation. She attended the University of Houston where she majored in Business and minored in Accounting. She worked for the President of Tenneco Oil Company and in later years, worked for John H. Crooker, Jr., whose father founded the law firm of Fulbright and Jaworski. Mr. Crooker, Jr. was the Chairman of the Civil Aeronautics Board under President Lyndon Johnson.

Jean was married for 65 years when her husband died in 2018. She has lived in Bellaire, Texas for 90 years. She has one daughter, who is a physician in Utah, and two lovely granddaughters.

Tiffany Emami-Locke (Secretary)

Tiffany is one of Beulah Haraldson’s grandchildren.  Tiffany graduated from George Mason University with a bachelors in Business Administration. 

Tiffany is the Vice President of Operations for a defense contractor in Norther Virginia. Tiffany lives in Herndon, VA with her husband and has 2 children.

Elizabeth Mills

Elizabeth comes from a long line of Texas Longhorns! She graduated from The University of Texas in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in reading. Elizabeth has worked in several Texas school districts and is currently working as a Professional District Reading Interventionist in Conroe ISD servicing students with dyslexia.

Elizabeth has been best friends with Jean Cook’s daughter since 1st grade despite the fact her dearest friend went to Texas A & M! Elizabeth is the proud mother of 3 Texas Longhorns and hopes the orange blood has transferred to her two adorable grandchildren.

Board Advisors

Scott Emami

Scott is one of Beulah Haraldson’s grandsons.  Scott graduated from University of Texas with a bachelors in Chemical Engineering and from the University of Virginia with a Masters in Business Administration. 

Scott is the Vice President of Marketing for an Austin-based medical device start-up. Scott enjoys bridging business and medicine by helping to grow adoption of new and innovative medical therapies.  Scott lives in Austin, TX with his wife and has 3 children.

John Emami

John is one of Beulah Haraldson’s grandsons.  John graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelors in Industrial Engineering and from Duke University with a Masters in Business Administration.  Despite not attending UT, John still loves UT football and has traveled to see many games including the Red River Rivalry on numerous occasions.

John works at Deloitte Consulting where he advises Health Care organizations on mergers, acquisitions, and growth strategies. John lives in Herndon, VA with his husband and has 2 children.

Jim Dossey

Jim’s family had a very close friendship with with Beulah Haraldson.  Jim graduated from MIT Sloan with an MBA in corporate finance and strategy and from University of Texas with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.  

Jim is an attorney / partner at Dossey & Jones PLLC in The Woodlands, Texas, concentrating in complex business law, tax, estate planning, and intellectual property.  Jim is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a registered patent attorney. Outside of work, Jim is a legal advisor for the Legacy Foundation at the Ark Church in Conroe, Texas, President of the MISD Education Foundation, and Vice Chair of the Corporate Tax Section of the state bar of Texas.
