Scholar Spotlights

Chikezie Ezuma-NGWU

I chose computer science because it will enable me to learn skills that will equip me with the knowledge to write and understand programs needed to advance human technological advancement.
I will be looking for jobs in software engineering, artificial intelligence research, robotics science, and similar. These are the fields my education and skills will be best suited for, and not only will I be doing what I have always wanted to do, I hopefully will get the opportunity to contribute to human technological advancement.
My long-term goal is to be settled in a fulfilling career and home life. Careerwise, I hope one day to be counted among the world's great innovators and industrialists.
I enjoy playing computer games with friends spread all over the world, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and volunteering with Project Cure whenever in Houston.
-Association of Black Computer Scientists – This is an organization for minorities in the computer science field where I find inspiration, mentoring, and an opportunity to share resources and encouragement to succeed in my chosen field.
-Longhorn Gaming – This is a social club for students where we engage in activities like board games, computer games, sporting activities, and social meetups to network and build friendships.
-Heman Swett center – This is an organization for Black males at UT where I can meet other people like me and develop connections, find mentors, and opportunities that I won’t find anywhere else.
Discover your passion and strive towards it and never give up. You will face many barriers that will make succeeding difficult, but you have to push on to leave your mark in this world.
