Scholar Spotlights

Axel Jeconiah

I chose chemical engineering because I wanted to focus on material science and help develop new energy storage solutions.
Recently I realized that I want to be an entrepreneur when I graduate. The shift from an engineer working at a corporation to an entrepreneur starting their own startup was caused by the realization that I wanted to work on a smaller amount of “projects” that would make a bigger impact in the long run.
I want to establish and grow my own business and be active at my church here in Austin.
During my free time, I would do research and work on my business idea. Additionally, I watched YouTube, Netflix, and building relationships with my friends.
I am currently working at Texas Innovation Center at UT Austin and was also working at Texas Innovation Center. Besides those organizations, I spend most of my time helping the mentors at Koinonia, a Christian fellowship group.
Have big dreams. Focus your energy and attention as much as you can on those dreams, of who you want to be in the future, and what impact you want to have in the future. This way it’s easy for other people to join that dream that you have and support you along the way.
