Scholar Spotlights

Steven Callahan

I’m a logical thinker and I love computers.

I’m looking into cybersecurity, software engineering, or game development.

I want to get a black belt in Taekwondo, be able to do the splits, and make the Longhorn Powerlifting team.

I hang out with my Fraternity brothers in Delta Sigma Phi, kick it in Taekwondo, jam out in the Ballroom Dance club, work out, ride my bike around Austin, and play video games.
  • Delta Sigma Phi: An amazing brotherhood that I’m proud to call my home at UT.
  • Texas Taekwondo: A beginner-friendly organization with a lot of potential for moving up.
  • Texas Ballroom: I enjoy meeting new people, learning new skills, and cardio, making ballroom dance an excellent club for me.
  • Association for Computing Machinery: I enjoy being involved with my fellow computer science majors in a more formal capacity.
If at first you don’t succeed, try again! I didn’t make the cut the first time I applied, but another year of growth and results was enough to earn me a spot as a Haraldson Scholar. This advice applies in all areas of life; keep your head up and push on when life throws a wrench in your plans. You may be pleasantly surprised with the outcome!
